Hosting Healthy Movement for ECEs in your community

Description: This workshop is for those who work with children from ages 0 to 8.

At Foolish Operations, we advocate that self-regulation starts with co-regulation, through the physical body. Movement, stillness, touch (through human connection, connection to nature, or objects), and more importantly breath, support children’s brain development.

As educators, we model these practices and need to find healthy ways to support our adult bodies.  Explore new ways to move up and down to protect your back and neck, and integrate voice warm-ups and breathing routines directly into your teaching practice, as games and activities.

Participants: A workshop taught by two artists, up to 25 moving adults if the space is large enough. Participants may include early childhood educators, teachers, counselors, educational assistants, librarians, artists and cultural leaders.

Logistics: A space without mirrors or furniture is preferable. We will bring a Bluetooth speaker. The workshop can be 90 minutes in it’s short form or 3 hours long. We encourage participants to wear comfortable clothes, bring a notebook, snacks and a bottle of water.
