We held a creative exchange week with five Montréal and Laurentides-based artists to be included in a future distribution of Baby Space Opera in eastern Canada in an effort to reduce our touring carbon footprint. For this new team to practice with babies and small children, we also hosted two Dancing the Parenting workshops in Hochelaga-Maisonneuve, and one Family Dancing Storytime in Blainville. We also offered one Ensemble Thinking™ workshop for performers.

We gathered for a final Baby Space Opera technical residency at La maison de la culture Mercier. Here above is a video of Andie Lloyd, the light and projection designer, testing lighting from a baby’s perspective. The residency concluded with four world premiere performances at Festival Petits Bonheurs. What a joy to finally open this work and meet our audiences!

Sarah and Julie traveled to Îles-de-la-Madelaine to present Tricoter 6 times in many of the archipelago’s villages. Sonia Painchaud, local musician adapted the score for the accordion. Thank you Petits Bonheurs Îles-de-la-Madelaine and audiences for this very warm welcome. We can’t wait to go back and collaborate again. These islands may have the highest concentration of artists who create with and for very young audiences, per capita.
